Tips on how to take care of yourself and make the most of YOUR summer holidays:WHY should you be intentional?
We have been in such a state of ambiguity and uncertainty. In some ways spring break hasn't ended, in other ways, we're really just hitting our stride with the new shape that learning has taken. We are here to remind you that with summer just around the corner, you have the power to seize each day and intentionally notice the amazing things happening around you. WHEN will you take time for yourself? You can’t pour from an empty bucket! Fill your bucket early in the summer so that there isn’t a single moment of joy or love that passes you by. WHO do you want to connect with? Connection doesn't have to happen in person. We are all familiar with using Zoom, but consider changing things up: make a phone call, send an email, or even dust off that notepad and write to your pen pals like the summers of our childhood. WHAT is something you would like to do? Maybe your family has traditions that you look forward to each year, or maybe this is the year to start a whole new tradition. Whether it brings you together or creates space and time for you to be with yourself, plan to make your heart happy. WHERE would you like to spend time? The cabin, your backyard, a blanket fort, or a mountain top. Focusing on where you can go instead of where you can’t go will give you all the options you could possibly need. HOW are you going to hold yourself accountable? Make commitments to those you love for time to connect as well as time for yourself to slow and quiet your body, mind, and soul. Be honest with yourself about what you need when, and make it happen. You have two whole months, it sounds like a lot of time but we have experienced how quickly it vanishes.
